Thunder Bolt vs Xtool P2 Comparison
In this video we are comparing the Thunder Bolt to the Xtool P2 in the following categories.
- Engraving Speed: For this test we ran both machines at their max operating speeds. The Thunder Bolt completed the project almost 5 minutes faster than the P2!
- Cutting Speed: For this test we ran both machines at 100% power and used each manufacturer's recommended speed for 1/8 plywood. The Bolt finished nearly a whole minute faster.
- Noise Test: If you plan on keeping a laser machine inside your home, the noise that it produces is extremely important to consider. For this test we used a decibel meter to accurately measure the noise produced while the machines were running. The Bolt ranged from 6...

WATT you talk'n Bout? 55w RF vs 130W Glass Impossible??
Просмотров 1,2 тыс.10 месяцев назад
A quick example of what a 3x smaller, denser beam can do in comparison to it's big brother Glass Co2.... Odin 32 55w VS Nova 63 130w.. While we are talking about the new Bolt 30w This comparison is between a Odin 55w RF and Nova 130w glass tube. While the glass tube is over double the wattage the smaller, denser beam of the RF is capable of cutting most of the same thickness materials. Of cours...

How do you prevent the path from burning?
You must covert the text to path then delete the pathlayer or use T1 or T2(tool layer) so its no seen as "cut" layer
Fiber laser is the machine you want for this job. my 30W obliterates Brick and stone and if you go slow enough which is still way faster than CO2 it melts into a nice dark black.
When I right click it doesn’t say anything about apply to path.
Is this only available for paid versions?
There is only a 30Day trial with all the features and the paid version. There isnt a free version
Would be cool if parts of the November Thunder event was recorded or streamed for those that didn't get registered in time to fill the slots.
Hi, I would rather enlarge first, then sharpen. This avoids enlarging the sharpening artifacts.
Other than MDF
Just curious what do you recommend for the type of wood to do this kind of work Mama thank you
Great video…thanks!
Intro music far too loud, so i turn music down, cant here him speak. please adjust your volumes
спасибо, дельные советы
Thanks for the comparison! I'm hesitating between the Thunder Bolt and the Xtool P2. Can you also provide me with the cutting depth limits on more thick plywood. I understand that the Xtool P2 is better in this respect...
Why dou you have the time of acrylic in the thumb. Can we use acrylic.
Great video Loco
Thank you!! I try...
Wow Yes 🙌 this helps thanks dude 😮
Can you do a video with the bolt cutting and engraving clear acrylic?
Brother... Is it safe to engrave on those painted tiles?? Are they emanating any toxic gases? Pls enlighten
I’d like to see it compared to real word applications as a smoke exhaust fan for a 20x20x8 standard garage (ie cigar smoke) garage door closed.
what size machine was this done on?
It’s in the title Nova 63/130
Why not just use the sublayer feature to line and fill the same object?
Sublayers were very difficult to use when this video was made.. since they weren't available yet.. That came on the final release of LBRN for Galvo. This was the first Beta version.
0.5 mm/sec vs 2nm sec - is definitely NOT "quite the same speed", it's 4 times!
But it’s with a 2 lens not 4 lens.
Nice custom mods to the fiber
Thank you for a great video. I did have a question based on comments I have seen in other discussions though. If you take off the extension for the 4 inch lens, couldn't you be potentially clipping the beam through the tip at the upper part of the hourglass rather than it having thinned enough to fully fit through the hole or is that really not an issue with the way that particular barrel and tip are spec'd?
I can see this as a small possibility, but until we see a negative impact, split beam, shadowing etc.. i would not be concerned. But since we are using this as an engraving lens at this point to clear objects, I would use the larger opening nozzle.
thanks for the explanation! good information
I've been trying to come up with a reasonable explanation for the flaking as well. You seem to have hit the nail on the head. Nothing you can do about it other than clean it off. It's too bad because the frosty look you get with it on really looks cool but it isn't going to stay.
Focus 2mm from the glass and that will give you a sand blasted result. The beam interacts a bit differently.. but all in all we are fracturing the glass and it is very hard to get rid of the flaking. Focusing in was the only way I found to work
Thank you so much for helping me get my Bolt set up! Your videos are so easy to follow. You are a great teacher!
Thank you for mentioning it.. it means a lot.! Enjoy your bolt!
Can it be use with lightburn
Can it be used with the RA2 pro
How many passes did it take to cut through that thick acrylic? I'm also assuming it was run at full power.
very cool, thank you
Very good instruction and very helpful. Although the background music is annoying. Just my opinion though other's may like it.
What were your settings?
Have you tried thicker ply's?
Very helpful! Thank You!
I’m going to be giving this ago
is that black paint you put on the back of the engrave? What is the process ?
If you watch my video on Leveling up your photos it will all be explained.
Thanks I will look for that video . @@HouseOfLasers
Cool video! mind telling where you sourced the reducer for the 10" fan?
Amazon.. what don't they have, Right?
@@ThunderLaserUSA more specifically; what type/make, etc... I'm looking to get a 10x8 for my T10 and I've found some; however, a few seem to be of questionable quality, did you seal that reducer with a gasket or tape of sorts, or is it just lapped correctly(to avoid potential leaks/air resistance). Thanks for replying!
Nice so thats where the fan is at. I always thought that the fan was in the vent shaft but I guess it isnt.
Well that sucked for me lmao. Great video. my Thunder is 51/130 and I just caught fire the acrylic. So that setting is too slow for my machine. NOT YOUR FAULT, it was mine. I should have paid attention to what machine you said you had. Will try again. Learned a lot and it wasn't as easy as I thought it would be either. THank you for the video.
At the time of the video I was likely in INCH rather than MM.. For photos i do not exceed 300mm and usually very low power 10-14%
NO need to say "what's up guys and girls."
Then i guess, equally no reason to say "no need to say" But, Last i checked Im making my videos that help people.. not to be criticized about things that mean absolutely nothing. That fact you stopped in to say something about it speaks volumes.Right Andrew?
@@HouseOfLasers Sorry, was in a rush for a job. You’ve got great vids and helped me, thanks.
New to the laser world and this is exactly what i have been looking for. Wanting to do a few images with this technique! I love the black in the deeper parts of the images , like the lion you did! Super excited.
Chris, great video, thank you. When engraving glass what air pressure do you use, high or low? Context - do you high for cooling?
RF laser tubes and then stepper motors make no sense to me at all. The beam expander for such a small machine is also not needed. The cutting performance of the machine will not be particularly good with it.
I got everything up to the “intersect” & paste. When I paste, it puts the same 1/2, not the other. What am I doing wrong?
Great Video
Still waiting for my Bolt. Do you know what setting can be done to achieve this with Thunder Bolt and Rotoboss? Thank you in advance.
Can you explain how you did the bending text? I got lost there. Thanks.
New Sub,,Thunder laser comment sent me over here. Thank you for sharing
Can wine bottles be engraved too? It looks like it could be an issue with the bottle neck. Thanks in advance.
Why don't these videos play the "horrible" sounds that these laser emit when operating?
